Tutorial on Backing up Players Profile in COD:WaW

One Click Profile back up Tool

  • One click on this .bat file automatically places a back up of your COD World at War player profile into your Documents folder in case you loose it or have to re-install the game.
  • There is one for XP and one for Vista. Both are in the zip.

Manually back up your Profile

  • As we all rank up we will need to backup our player profiles
  • If you have never had to start over ....you have been lucky
  • Below are instructions for saving player profile:


Windows Vista

Open the games browser (start -> games) Right click on the entry for Call of Duty - World at War and select saved games Backup the players folder

Or if the game is not in your games launcher or you cannot locate the games launcher do the following:

First you need to setup your system to see hidden files and folders in Vista:

  • Click on the Start Menu
  • Select Control Panel
  • Double-click on the Folder options
  • Select the View tab
  • Select the option to view hidden files and folders


If that doesn't work try this:

  • Click on the "Start Menu"
  • Select "Control Panel"
  • Then click on "Tools"
  • Click the "View Tab" then tic "Show hidden files and folders".
  • Next browse to the data you wish to backup
  • Go to start -> computer
c:\Users\<your Windows username>\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\
  • Backup the Players folder and servercache.dat file to a safe location


Windows XP

  • First make sure you can see your hidden files and folders in XP:
  • Click "My Computer". At the top of this window click "Tools" then "Folder Options".
  • Click the "View" tab, then "Files and Folders" then "Hidden files and folders".
  • Now check the one marked "Show hidden files and folders".
  • Now Click "Apply" then "Okay" at the bottom of this window.
  • Next browse to the data you wish to backup
  • Go to My Computer then in :
c:\Documents and Settings\<your Windows username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\
  • Backup the Players folder and servercache.dat file to a safe location
